Louis Tussaud's in Pattaya makes the British press

Unfortunately, for the wrong reasons. As the Daily Mail Online puts it, "for some of the most bizarre waxworks ever".

I have to say, from the photos published by the Mail, the Beckhams and Hitler look the most bizarre with Posh looking more like Mrs. Spock than Mrs. Beckham.

Brits are ugliest in the world

British people are among the ugliest in the world according to elitist dating website BeautifulPeople.com. Interested applicants submit their photos and are rated based on looks to determine whether they can join the site. Since Beautiful People went live worldwide last month, it has rejected 1.8 million people from 190 countries. Talk about high standards! But the British have perhaps suffered the most rejection, according to Reuters:

Fewer than one in eight British men and just three in 20 women who have applied to BeautifulPeople.com have been accepted, an emailed statement from the website showed.

On the opposite end of the attractiveness spectrum, you’ll find Swedish men and Norwegian women with 65 and 76 percent acceptance rates, respectively.

Ed. As one website reported it, "Looks like the ugly stick took a Barry Bonds-size swing at Britain."  My feeling is it's the Welsh, Scots and Irish pulling the English down but whatever, we Brits KNOW we are beautiful inside....

Pattaya to be rebranded as a culture and sports destination

A para in a Bangkok Post article on rebranding Pattaya caught my eye today.

Quote:
The mayor admits Pattaya is better known as the city of five "S", standing for sea, sand, sun, service and, of course, sex. But that must change. Red-light attractions like beer and a go-go bars, he asserts, will soon be confined to the city's central and southern areas.
:Unquote

Ed. Red light attractions will soon be confined to the city's central and southern areas? Southern must be Walking Street but what comes under Central? Soi Buakhao? Third road between South Pattaya and Central Pattaya roads? It certainly doesn't sound like Soi 6 and the bars further north fall under 'central area'. If they did it there would be no change. One to watch for bar-keeps and mongers that's for sure.

Microsoft bans chipped Xbox 360s from Live

Pirate gamers booted off Xbox Live by Microsoft

Microsoft has cut off thousands of Xbox Live gamers that modify their consoles. Online reports indicate that as many as 600,000 gamers have been affected.

The primary reason gamers modify their console is to play pirated games. Thousands worldwide will switch on their consoles to find the following message when logging in: “Your console has been banned from Xbox”.

Game piracy is said to cost the industry almost £750 million a year and this will come as welcome news to developers that often see their games pirated before their release date.
