Crystal & Iron earn top billing in Pattaya

The stand out bars from the ones visited last night were easily Crystal, LK Metro and Iron on Walking Street.

Photo from Bachelor - it's dark in there so the LEDs stand out.

Crystal was the busiest bar by far and has probably the best line up of girls of any bar on on LK. Some bars on LK hardly had any customers which I guess is a sign of the low season times.

On Walking Street, Iron created a huge impression with it's bevy of beautiful and buxom, (many natural), ladies. I could have easily stayed there all night drinking in the view..... Sensations still has a stunning line up but was surprisingly low on customers last night. If they can't pull the punters in with their line up then this must be the lowest of all low seasons. i-Bar was bouncing if that's your thing with more pretty things in there than you can shake a stick at. You'll probably have more success in there if you haven't yet qualified for a bus pass.... what say you One Shirt.....

No More Dependent Extension Of Stay

No More Dependent Extension Of Stay If The Host Foreigner Has A Retirement Extension Of Stay Permit
If a foreigner has been granted an extension of stay based on retirement, until now as per 7.19 of the Royal Police Office Order 606/2006 his or her foreign dependent ( wife or husband, child, father, mother) could get a extension of stay by being a dependent. As of Sept 1st, no more dependent extension of stay permits will be issued if the foreigner has a extension of stay based on retirement. This includes any “grandfather” cases where the dependent applicant had the extension of stay before Sept 1st 2007.

Example. A foreigner husband is 53 years old and has a extension of stay based on retirement. His wife is Japanese and they live together in Thailand. She is 43 years old and now cannot get a extension of stay as a dependent. Even if she was 51 years old, she does not qualify. She must meet her own set of criteria and not piggyback off her husbands retirement extension of stay permit. If she is over 50 years old, she can get a extension of stay based on retirement but must have her own 800K sent from outside the country to her bank account or qualify by having a pension of 65K per month.

Example: A foreigner has two children that are not Thai nationals. They are 16 years old and 12 years old. They can no longer be a dependent to obtain a extension of stay permit by having a father who is over 50 years old. They possibly can get a extension of stay permit or visa on a different criteria. Perhaps they will qualify as a educational extension of stay permit.

If you are applying for an extension of stay based on retirement, you will now need to provide a map from Immigration to your house. [via Thai Visa]

  • Had a wander around LK Metro last night and it was pretty quiet. Rockhouse had a few regulars in but all the other bars on that leg of LK Metro were empty. Went in Gorkels which was poor with zero talent on display. It could all have been bar fined and we saw it on a bad night but somehow I don't think so. Did notice that one of their street side meet and greeters was a big chested young lady who was once the 'star', (with oversized dildo), in a long since closed Walking Street Go-Go (Electric Blue I think), before she relocated to Diamond A-Go-Go. Looks like she's hiding out at Gorkels for a while. Some of the bars on the Eden Club leg of LK Metro are very attractively fitted out and had some customers but girls looked to be in short supply. The nearer we got to Soi Buakao the busier the LK Metro bars got. From what I saw, I'd certainly go there to drink but not to look for company.

  • Woman at large with husband's severed penis - Pornbun Sinthusin, 35, came home in Bangkok yesterday and found her 34-year-old husband Ploeng Plaekratoke in bed with another woman, said police Lieutenant Colonel Kornwat Hunpradit. She later gave him several beers before cutting off his penis with "a sharp object,'' Lt-Col Kornwat said. The husband was now in intensive care. [via The Australian]

  • A barkeep told me an amusing story last night about shopping in Big C for DVDs. He said he was looking at a boxed set of Charlie Chaplin DVDs when a sales assistant walked up and advised him not to buy them as they were in Thai only. Barkeep to assistant, "What the fuck do you mean in Thai, they're silent movies". "Up to you sir", says the assistant and wanders off. Barkeep buys DVDs and when he comes to watch them, sure enough they're dubbed in Thai. Hard to believe but true. From silent to dubbed Thai dialogue must take some doing. This is one time you can mute the sound and the vids will still be perfectly watchable.

  • Flight simulator hidden within Google Earth

Amazing but true: as spotted by Marco, Google has hidden a mini flight simulator within Google Earth. To access it for the first time, hit CTRL+Alt+A in Windows or Command+Option+A on the Mac.

You need the latest version (4.2) of Google Earth, and you need to be over the US to get the window to pop up. What you should see in that window is a choice of two planes - the F16 and the SR22. Once you’ve accessed it for the first time, you can return to the simulator by hitt

ing Tools, then Enter Flight Simulator. The controls are keyboard and mouse, and while it’s limited in scope, it’s still a lot of fun. I think this one may qualify as the “Best Easter Egg Ever!”. [via Mashable]

  • Little Sally came home from school and with a smile on her face and told her mother, "Frank Brown showed me his willy today!" Before the mother could raise a concern, Sally went on to say, "It reminded me of a peanut". Relaxing with a hidden smile, Sally's Mum asked, "Really small was it?" Sally replied, "No... salty!"
