Ed: Statistics are fine but the reality is the reported increase is in Asian nationalities and they don't drink in bars. They are chaperoned to bars, restaurants and shopping malls that are on the Thai commission circuit. The number of 'western' tourists has to be down. Ask the barkeeps.
