Survey results for Falang men on Thai women

I like to thank the 28 people who took the time to fill out the survey.

As I said at the outset, the survey was a bit of fun but the results from the small set surprised me a little. Basically, it would appear we love Thai women for their natural beauty and not their gymnastic ability. When you consider the respondents are probably here for the girls then I would have thought bedroom Olympics would have scored higher marks.

Not surprisingly, (to me at least), money management and support of family scored poorly in the survey.

The category receiving the most maximum scores, (10's), was "their ability to make the old and ugly feel wanted". Nine in total so I can only assume 9 respondents are either old or ugly or both!!!!!

Mark H. was the most generous scorer awarding nine maximum points for the ten categories. Mark, all I can say is I would like to meet your wife/girlfriend. Even better, her sister!!!!

Maybe next I should do a survey of Thai Girls On Falang Men but I'll definitely give more thought to the questions on that one.

Again thanks for playing.
Ed.

New Thailand Immigration Rules for Submitting 90-Day Report by Mail OR In Person

Foreigners must provide proof of residence IF YOU APPLY IN PERSON OR BY MAIL. The same rules apply whether mailed of submitted in person, so this is important for all foreigners on one-year visas.

If you stay at a guest house, hotel or apartment you only need to provide a business card of the name of the guest house, hotel or apartment

If you stay in a house, townhouse or condominium you can provide any ONE of the following as evidence of your address:

·         Letter from owner of the house stating you live there

·         A copy of the house book of wife if living in house with wife’s name in it.

·         A copy of the house book of your Thai relative living with you. The house, condo, shop house or townhouse can be owned by someone else or a Thai company. The only requirement is the name of your Thai wife; husband or dependent child is in the book.

·         Any bill or bank statement that shows you receive mail at the address. Examples are electric bill, cable TV bill, telephone bill, internet service provider bill, or receipt from landlord.

·         Also, savings account or investment account statements can also be used to verify address.

·         A copy of the lease for your residence with your name listed as a tenant.

Salman in a tuk-tuk

Salman Khan will be seen in the distinctive Thai rickshaws performing action scenes for upcoming film, Ready

Salman Khan recently shot some high-voltage action sequences while driving a tuk-tuk (see box) in the narrow streets of Pattaya, Thailand last week.

Perhaps inspired by Hollywood actor Pierce Brosnan's fast-paced ad in the ubiquitous Thai rickshaw, Khan suggested to the director Anees Bazmee that they shoot some action scenes in one, as it hasn't been done in a Hindi film as yet.

Holidays with the Devil at Full Moon Party

full moon party
. Source: The Sunday Telegraph

YOUNG Australians are flocking to Thailand to dance with death and drink huge brews of alcohol and drugs. It's schoolies on steroids. A teenager's paradise. No parents, no rules, no authorities, no police. No limits.

Welcome to Thailand's infamous Full Moon parties, where the signature drink is a bucket of hard alcohol with red bull -- drugs of all kinds are bought over the counter at bars.

Every month, thousands of backpackers descend on the island of Koh Phangan where the event has been for each full moon since 1985.

It's a cash-cow for the Thai government, drawing about 30,000 revellers during peak seasons and around 10,000 to 20,000 others on any given month. And now more than ever, Australians are joining the party.
Lured by the guarantee of low-cost flights, a wild time and cheap alcohol, they cram themselves onto the island's exotic Haad Rin beach to dance the night away.

Now an investigation by The Sunday Telegraph has uncovered a high-risk, unregulated and dangerous culture of drinking and drug taking -- among revellers and "officials" -- which any parent would shudder to think their child is walking into.

Hangover 2 hits cinemas in May 2011

Liam Neeson has described his time filming a cameo for The Hangover 2 as "intense".

Talking to MTV News, the actor - who portrays an Irish tattoo artist living in Bangkok in the upcoming comedy - recalled working with the film's stars on a set built to look like a Thai city on the Warner Bros lot in California.

"Oh, it was [fun], it was. It was pretty intense. I was only there for one day - a Sunday, as far as I remember," he explained.

"But it was good to be with Bradley Cooper - he's a buddy - and the other two gentlemen [Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis], I'd never met them before, but I love what they do."

Neeson added: "The three of them are just, they reinvent the Three Stooges in a very funny way."

The Hangover 2 will hit theatres in the US on May 26 and in the UK on May 27.

Smartphone competition hits overdrive

Sales of smartphones at this weekend's Thailand Mobile Expo are expected to rise by 20% in volume from last year while value is projected to be steady at 1.3 billion baht, reflecting lower unit prices.

"Heavy competition will lower smartphone prices at least 20%," said Opas Cherdpunt, the managing director of M Vision, the organiser of the expo that will open today at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok.

"Demand growth is expected with Android-based smartphones, cut to 9,900 baht from 12,000. Android-based users are mainly university students and first-jobbers." Many brands will introduce Android-based smartphones at the fair such as the Motorola Defy at 12,900 baht, the Charm at 9,900 baht, the Samsung Galaxy Cooper at 9,900 baht, and the Acer E140 at 6,590 baht. LG will showcase its Optimus 2X and Black.Meanwhile, Nokia will launch the E7, which offers Symbian for business users and C6 for touchscreen phones. HTC will introduce the Mozart, the second model of Windows Phone, at 17,900 baht.
