Pre-Wedding Brunch Leads to "Hangover II" Mayhem

Warner Bros. has revealed a key plot-point for "The Hangover Part II" -- a seemingly innocent brunch will set the wheels in motion for the comedy.

The newly released studio press kit reveals how "The Hangover" crew of Phil (Bradley Cooper), Stu (Ed Helms), Alan (Zach Galifianakis) and Doug (Justin Bartha) will find trouble when Helms' character gets married in Thailand.

"After the unforgettable bachelor party in Las Vegas, Stu is taking no chances and has opted for a safe, subdued pre-wedding brunch," the release says. "However, things don't always go as planned."

24th Nov – 5th Dec 2010 – River Kwai Bridge Week

Each year in Thailand there is a festival called River Kwai Bridge Week held at Thamakham which is just to the North of Kanchanaburi, where a steel and concrete bridge crosses the River Kwai Yai. This bridge was built by Allied prisoners of war during WWII and is refereed to as the Bridge on the River Kwai.

The festival includes displays of historic exhibits from WWII, a carnival parade with floral floats, a peace pageant, rides on steam hauled wartime trains and a spectacular sound and lights show that depicts life and conditions on the Death Railway. The show is translated into English, Japanese, Chinese and German via headphones.

Away from the bridge there is also a service of remembrance at Don Rak war cemetery in Kanchanaburi which is the home for the remains of several hundred Allied POW’s who died building the Death Railway in the area.

Pattaya ZoomOut, Creative Electronic Music and Dance Festival, November 26 - 27

Pattaya will reach a new level of 'wild' when the first ZoomOut festival kicks off later this month.

The event web site suggests the festival will run from 5.00pm at Bali Hai Pier but the Bangkok Post's Guru magazine claims there will be six stages spread out over the city with 70 local and international DJ's involved in the 2 day party.

However it works out Pattaya intends to transform itself into a music and dance lovers paradise. Hmmmm. I thought it already was.

Delivery you can rely on.....

Yorkshire compassion

A man was sitting on a blanket at the beach. He had no arms and no legs. Three women were walking past, one from the Midlands, the second from Surrey and the third from Yorkshire . They felt sorry for the poor man.

The  Midlands woman said 'Have you ever had a hug?'

The man said 'No,' so she gave him a hug and walked on.

The  Surrey woman said, 'Have you ever had a kiss?'

The man said, 'No,' so she gave him a kiss and walked on.

The  Yorkshire woman came to him and said, 'Have you ever been f ** ked?'

The man broke into a big smile and said, 'No.'-

She said, 'You will be when the tide comes in.'

Mansion 7: Bangkok’s most bizarre new shopping and drinking experience

Mansion 7
Looking more like a movie set than a shopping mall, Mansion 7 hopes to attract Bangkok's trend-conscious set by offering them something completely unique.

Most Bangkok shopping malls are bright, airy and relaxing, filled with the sweet sounds of pop twinkling in the air. The newly opened Mansion 7 has none of that.

Designed to look like a dark old mansion, the entrance to this boutique mall welcomes shoppers in with a great, frightening “claw.” Inside the air conditioning-free hall is a giant spooky moon and a deserted haunted house in the background, with various creepy installations set up here and there.

The new lifestyle complex on Ratchadaphisek Road, which suitably opened on Halloween, hopes to attract young, trend-conscious Thais in search of something new and unique.  A 170 million baht project, Mansion 7 is the second masterpiece of Pattara Sahawatra, the brains behind super successful "vintage village" Plearnwan in Hua Hin.

Mansion 7 offers everything a decent mall should have, but with a twist. Every food, retail and drink outlet has its own unique concept and design that can't be found anywhere else in the city -- a rarity in franchise-heavy Bangkok. Many of the venues are owned by Thai celebrities, including actress Chris Horwang, film director Yuthlert Sippapak and DJ/actress Opal.

Mansion 7
In one corner of Mansion 7 there's a spooky facade of a deserted haunted house.

Spooky booze and blood-inspired som tum

Mansion 7 is also making a play to attract the city’s drinkers. Beer Mansion serves lagers from around the world, including Hoegaarden, Blanche de Bruxelles, Waterloo, Beer Lao and Tsingtao.

If you don’t mind having a drink with hundreds of gnomes watching you -- they could start talking to you after a few drinks -- hit the stylishly industrial Cocktail Bar for signature cocktails and trick-rocking bartenders. There’s also Nonde-Nonde, featuring imported sake and shochu with yakitori munchies, as well as the Whiskey Bar and Wine Bar.

Most of the bars open from 5 p.m. to midnight on weekdays and till 2 a.m. on weekends.

Food lovers will find unique dishes here too, whether it be Devil Mousse at Bakie Booqie bakery, black kanomjeen (rice noodles) at Krueng-Zen restaurant or blood-group customized som tum (papaya salad) at the fabulously named Thai-Isaan restaurant Somtumized.

Fashionistas can hit Mansion 7's 20-something unique shops such as The Hidden Closet, which offers all things fun and kinky, whether it be sexy lingerie, handcuffs or body whipping cream. For fun of the non-sexual variety, Gimmick Magic Shop sells gags, magician equipment and other wacky devices. Rose Apple offers nail services till 11 p.m. as the owners know that finding a good nail studio at night is next to impossible.

And finally, once you’ve knocked back a few cocktails, hit the "Dark Mansion." It might not have staff groping you in dark corners but the 15-minute walk through this haunted house is definitely a work of art that plays with human psychology and fears. The entrance fee is 80 baht.

New attractions bring double dose of star power to Bangkok

Eco Mall And Wax Museum

New attractions bring double dose of star power to Bangkok

Paradise Park eco-mall

Southeast Asia's premier eco-mall, Paradise Park, and the region's first Madame Tussauds museum are the latest additions to Bangkok's stellar list of visitor attractions.
The tenth link in the worldwide museum chain, Madame Tussauds Bangkok is the most technologically advanced, offering hundreds of opportunities for visitors to interact with exhibits.
"We are no longer a wax museum," said general manager Paul Williams. A visit to Madame Tussauds is like a rollercoaster ride with constant thrills where we take you to meet some of the world's most famous individuals and the secrets of their rise to fame."
Among those sharing their secrets at Madame Tussauds Bangkok are such legendary world figures as Queen Elizabeth, Barack Obama, David Beckham, Michael Jackson, George Clooney, Angelina Jolie - all rendered in astonishingly lifelike sculptures for which Madame Tussauds is known and celebrated. Thai-themed exhibits make up one-third of the 75 interactive experiences offered in the 3000-square meter Bangkok museum, built at a cost of US$15 million in the newly-remodeled Siam Discovery Center. Television superstar Anne Thongprasom, teen super model Pancake-Khemanit Jamikorn, heartthrob actor Ken-Theeradej Wongpuapan, and martial artist Tony Jaa are among the Thai celebrities represented at Madame Tussauds Bangkok. A unique "Royal Hall" presented under special arrangement with His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, allows interaction with Thai historical figures, including His Majesty the King's own parents.
If Madame Tussauds captures elements of Thailand's past, the new Paradise Park on Srinakarin Road points the way into the future.
A sleekly-modern shopping center designed specifically for the upscale residents in Bangkok's rapidly-growing East End, Paradise Park mixes urban sophistication with the beauty of the natural landscape. Inspired by nearby Rama IX Park, the heart and soul of the eastern suburbs of Bangkok, Paradise Park's design has already been hailed the "Oasis of Srinakarin." Landscaping at the 290,000-square-meter Paradise Park meticulously recreates the extraordinary diversity of Thailand's landscape, making it a visitor destination as much as a shopping center. Developers intend to use Paradise Park, with its mix of commercial and leisure spaces, as a prototype for additional projects in the Bangkok and beyond.
As the visitor season shifts into high gear, Bangkok's two new destinations add to the Thai capitol's luster as the most exciting city in Asia.
