Bangkok Jazz Festival 2010
Adding to the rich Bangkok jazz scene and endless string of festivals, CentralWorld is adding its own contribution this year.
From March 9-14, the sounds of international jazz musicians will reverberate through CentralWorld Square in the evenings.
There will be performances from Rodney Holmes, Steve Weingart, Robben Ford, Randy Brecker and many others.

A Night on the Street
Had a wander around a few of the bars on Walking Street on Friday night and the overall feeling was the bars were low on staff. Not sure if it was the rain that had kept them away or if they'd been 'taken away' but many stars were not in the bars.
Tried out What's Up upstairs and with beer at Bt135 a bottle they need to be doing something special. Sadly it was anything but so it was one expensive beer and back on the street. Maybe I caught them on a bad night...... When you think some very good bars sell draft at Bt60 a glass then What's Up needs to deliver something above and beyond to justify it's prices.

SET dives after UDD plans airport rally
The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) composite index plunged about 10 points on Tuesday's afternoon session on news of the planned anti-government rally at Suvarnabhumi airport by the red-shirt United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD), BFIT Securities analyst Aphisit Limsupanark said.

Watch the movie Alive on repeat play. It's about the 1972 Uruguayan rugby team who's chartered plane crash landed in the snow-capped Andes. With no supplies and freezing snow cold all around, they begin to die of cold. The survivors then had to eat their dead mates. 'Nuff said. Sadly, it's yet to reach us in gory high-def detail on Blu-ray, but you can pick it up here from Amazon on DVD for £3.98.

Date of Audition
Dear Friends of Pattaya Players,
It seems there was some confusion with the date of the upcoming auditions. Please note that the date at the top of the press release (sent out a few days ago) was the date the press release went out and not the date of the actual audition. If you read the actual press release you would note that in the first paragraph it gives the date and location of the audition. This information is also readily available on our website at www.pattayaplayers.org .
Auditions are at Bangkok Hospital Pattaya 10th Floor Building D on Monday, January 18, 2010 from 6-8:30 PM.
