I was hoping for sooner as it will knock 20mins off an airport run but after waiting 4 years, I can wait 2 months more.

Highway 7 - Pattaya to Bangkok to Open March 14th
The Pattaya Mail is reporting that the new road from Sukhumvit, between Pattaya North and Pattaya Central Roads, to Highway 36 (Regent's School), and beyond will open on March 14th.
