All you need to know about manscaping

Gone are the days where unsightly face and body hair was attractive to women (circa the caveman era). Nowadays, women expect their guys to smell good and keep their hair growth to a minimal.

But, seriously guys, let me fill you in on a few secrets:

  • Back hair is not attractive and it’s a huge deal breaker
  • Hairy ears will not entice someone to nibble
  • Protruding nose hair is just disgusting.
  • An overgrown beard makes you look like Paul Bunyan…and when was the last time he got laid?
  • So if you’re looking to make yourself more attractive to the opposite sex, I suggest you start with your hair…

What is “manscaping” you ask?  Manscaping is the male equivalent to what us gals do (we wax, we shave, hell we even vajazzle nowadays), but it’s a lot less extreme.  All a guy has to do to manscape is get the right tools. Within no time he’ll be on his way to picking up that chick he’s been looking at behind his thick unibrow for months!

Five thousand british students spark outrage with drunken break in Spanish resort

Thousands of British students have sparked outrage in a Spanish seaside resort during a drunken spring break.

Around 5,000 youngsters have gathered on the Costa Dorada for a five-day festival of late night-drinking and debauchery.

'Saloufest' promotes itself as a sporting event, but locals have been shocked by the alcohol-fueled antics of many of the 18 to 23-year-olds.

Just 24 hours after the partying started in the town of Salou, nine people had been treated by paramedics for drunkenness, with five of those requiring hospital treatment for alcohol poisoning.

    Miss Pattaya Pride 2010

On Sunday March 28, at Boyz Boyz Boyz in Boyz Town, twelve young hopefuls waited patiently hoping to be the one to win the title "Miss Pattaya Pride 2010".
The evening raised 135,000 Baht, which included a 50,000 Baht donation. This money will all go to benefit Pattaya Pride charities.

    Bangkok Adrenaline

Bangkok Adrenaline was showing in a bar I was in last night and I wondered what the fuss was all about. The acting was  amateurish, the plot weak and the action scenes reminiscent of Kill Bill. Can't deny that the fights were well cheographed but it's not close to the quality of Chocolate in my book.
I've got to give credit to the Thai stunt men in this film and in Chocolate. They sure know how to take a fall.

Head to Pattaya for the Top of the Gulf Regatta

Travellers who enjoy nothing more than taking to the open seas on a sailing vessel may want to make sure that they are in Pattaya at the end of April. From April 30th until May 4th, the Thai town will be playing host to the Top of the Gulf Regatta.

Sailing fans are promised four days of racing, with ten or more classes of vessel taking part. Ray Roberts, winner of the Coronation Cup in 2009, is intending to return to Pattaya with his own boat this year, according to the organisers.
As well as a number of entrants from all over the world, the Top of the Gulf Regatta attracts a large number of Thai vessels, giving locals an opportunity to showcase their sailing prowess.

    New Road Closed

The new motorway linking central Pattaya to the Regent's School and beyond has been closed since Friday causing traffic jams on the railway road.

Closed already when it's only just opened. Well it's closed for a movie crew to film a scene with a container truck. It could be the French film company mentioned in the press last week. Hard to tell who but clearly inconveniencing the general population of Pattaya is less important than keeping a film company happy.

    Symptoms of Sex Addiction Revealed.

Tiger getting caught has certainly created ripples. Mostly in his car paint work but ripples none the less. He get's caught and has to suffer the embarassment of a motley collection of conquests being paraded in the media. You'd think a guy in his position could pick up a looker or two. No not Tiger. Some of his conquests would struggle to get a job in Soi 6. Where's that then??

He then humiliates himself by holding a press conference to apologise to all and sundry just to pacify his sponsors. I'd have more respect for the man if he'd have told his sponsors it was a family matter and they could lump it or like it. He's Leuk Kreung (spelling?) after all so you'd think he'd have some concept of 'face'.

Back to the ripples. No doubt in response to Tiger getting caught the 5 Symptoms of sex addiction have been published. More than a few of you reading this will no doubt identify with the symptoms but remember, you only have to do something about it if you get caught. There's absolutely no reason to seek treatment if you are getting away with it. Maybe I'm the wrong person to be writing this.... Anyway, to the symptoms.

    5 Symptoms

    1. Post love loathing.  Ed. I thought we all felt this........
    2. Boobs instead of books.  Daydreaming about 'it' in the classroom or office. Ed. Surely all healthy males do this
    3. An abscence of morality.
Sex addicts do not see rules, boundaries, or laws, they see opportunities. Your mom, your girlfriend, your sister, it’s all fair game to a sex addict.
    4. A double life.  Ed. Of course you have to keep it secret. It's all about not getting caught.....  Duh..
    5. Bars, booze and BJ's  Ed. Your goose is cooked.

    MB 300
August International have today announced the launch of the MB300 Mini MP3 Music Box.

The MB300 is compatible with SD/MMC cards and USB sticks, playing back any of your MP3s stored on the devices. There's an FM tuner inside, as well as three alarm modes including buzzer, FM radio and MP3 wake-up calls.

The MB300 is fitted with a built-in Lithium rechargeable battery that will provide 5 hours of playback, whilst two AAA batteries can be inserted as back up power for the clock and calendar should you be away from a mains connection for too long.

Toll-free use of motorway Apr 9-19

The cabinet on Tuesday resolved to allow motorists to use the motorway free of charges during April 9-19, according to deputy government spokesman Supachai Jaisamut.

Mr Supachai said this was to ease out-bound and in-bound traffice from and to Bangkok during the Songkran holiday.

The toll-free service will be for two sections of the motorway: Bangkok-Rayong and Bangkok's outer ringroad between Bang Pa-in and Bang Phli).

The toll-free use of the motorways begins at 4pm on April 9 and ends at 12pm on April 19."

    Learn Thai The Fon's Way

A few years back I spent about 6 months at the AUA Uni in Bangkok learning Thai. After 6 months, I went to work outside Thailand and never followed up on learning Thai when I came back.

Of late, as I wander the web, I keep coming across positive references to Learn Thai The Fon's Way. It sort of reawakened my interest in learning Thai but to the point that it was always something I would do tomorrow. Well tomorrow arrived today and I'm suitably impressed with what I've found at Fon's Way

Fon's Way is to produce Thai lessons on Youtube from her toilet. Yes, her toilet and you get the feeling she's struggling to keep her fun side in check as she records the vids. That, or maybe she just wants to use the loo..... Regardless, her lessons are easy to follow and fun which always works for me. If you've any interest in learning Thai, then Fon's is a great place to start.

If you become a fan of Fon then you may want to check out her fun side at jaideetv.

    Spartacus - U.S. TV Shocker

Traditionally, TV programs made in America are far more conservative than programs made in Britain. Usually far less flesh and gratuitous violence. That's all changed with  Spartacus - Blood and Sand. This U.S. produced swords and sandles epic has enough nudity to pacify even the most committed Go-Go bar regular. The violence is reminiscent of 300, all comic book splatter and gore. If you remember Xena, Warrior Princess (Lucy Lawless) and which man doesn't, then she finally puts our minds at rest by revealing all in this surprising series.

The thing is, the nudity and violence shouldn't detract from what is a very good series with plot and sub plots aplenty to keep you interested.

A review I found online for the last program reads as follows:

Last night's "Spartacus: Blood and Sand" was 95% sex and titties, 4% violence, and 1% plot development. But it's cool, because everybody from slaves to senatorial wives got freaky, and some of them wearing only gold paint! Our boy Spartacus has accepted his place as champion/gigolo of the ludis, and so Lucy pimped him out to one of her friends. Does Lucy Lawless know what she's doing? Yes......

There's little chance of Spartacus being broadcast here without major cuts so maybe you need to do a bit of torrent searching online. It's is worth the trouble I assure you!!!!

    Traffic news

You should avoid Pattaya Beach Road for the rest of this week. Traffic's almost at a stand still as they erect the stages for this weekends music festival.

The new highway from central Pattaya to the Regent's School (Highway 36) and beyond was scheduled to open last Sunday but has now slipped to opening this month. The good news is City Hall workers were removing barriers on the highway this morning at the Naklua Intersection. When it finally openes it can only be good news for Pattaya. It bings Bangkok, the AIrport and golf clubs to the north of Pattaya, 20 minutes closer to the city. In fact golf clubs like Laem Chabang and Burapha will be easier to get to than Phoenix. No a bad thing I say.

Ex-Pats To Learn Full Pension Court Ruling

Nearly 500,000 elderly ex-pats will find out today if they have won a legal battle to force the British Government to pay them their full pensions.

They are awaiting a ruling from the European Court of Human Rights over whether their pensions should be index-linked to inflation.

Pensioners living in the European Union, as well as countries which have a reciprocal arrangement with the UK, get an annual increase in line with the cost of living.

But senior citizens who have moved to Australia, New Zealand, Canada and South Africa have been excluded.

It means that some have had to manage on the same weekly income for more than 20 years.

    Facebook 'Share' Option

Some of the posts on my Facebook wall have a 'share' option and some don't and I assumed there must be a setting in the 'Privacy' options that would allow me to set the 'share' option for all posts.

Well, Peter 'Toxane' Michael was kind enough to put me straight on the issue. He advised as follows:

"Wall posts with attachments (Links, Notes, Photos etc.) can be shared, 'text only' posts not. There is no setting for this, it's a 'feature'. ;-)"

I'm not sure why Facebook make it more difficult to share text but it's a limitation you should be aware of, particularly if you are promoting a product or service.

The bottom line is if yoiu want a post to go viral then include an attachment.

What I find particularly surprising is you can advertise your business/product for as little as BT10,000/- a month. This will get you 120 advert spots which works out at 4 a day. Sounds good to me when a 4 x 5 advert in a weekly newspaper can cost Bt10,000/-.

    Bad Air Quality in Thailand

For once, Pattaya comes out pretty well.

It is probably not a good idea to venture outside at the moment if you are living in some areas of Bangkok, Ayutthaya, Chiang Rai, Lampang, Lumpoon, Maehongson, Nan, Phayao and Chiang Mai due to the bad air quality. You should also consider wearing face masks in Chachoengsao, Nonthaburi, Samut Prakan, Samut Sakhon and Saraburi. The chart above is released by the Pollution Control Department and shows the air quality index for yesterday. The column of interest is PM10. It's a measure of parts per million that are smaller than 10 microns and therefore able to lodge in the lungs. The acceptable maximum is 120. The locations which have dangerous levels are marked in red. You can check air quality for yourself at their website forBangkok and the Regions of Thailand. Looks like we should all be heading south to the islands or even, apparently, to Pattaya in Chonburi!
