Shop units at The Avenue are filling up quickly and Villa Supermarket has hung a banner near the car park which may give an indication of the opening date but sadly my knowledge of Thai didn't pass the test. A very nice looking shop specialising in wine named Wine (8) has opened opposite Calafornia WOW (7) and Boots (2) is fully operational and next to the car park which makes it a good choice if you need a quick fix. Fatboy's Diner (4) doesn't look to be any closer to opening but the bowling alley (5) is doing brisk business (2 lanes occupied by white bloused, black mini skirted students when I went in.......), but the private Karaoke Rooms (6) in the same location looked underutilised. Now if you could get the students into the........ That just leaves Shenanigans (3) and it's great outdoor deck for watching the world go by and iStudio (1), a great looking shop for all things Apple:

- Don't forget it's the Jester's Care For Kids Fair this weekend and much hard work has gone in to the preparation. Please support this great day and the charities that benefit from the Jester's efforts by calling in to the Diana Garden Resort (golf driving range) on Sunday. Details of last year's event can be found here.

- Online Movie and TV Watching for the undecided video pirate
Podnix may appeal to that segment of the online movie pirate market that likes to randomly skip from video to video. The video site collects and categorizes movies, anime/manga, cartoons, TV shows, and music videos. Within each category, it puts all the video links on one page in alphabetical order so you can easily scroll and see exactly which episode of Prison Break (for instance) that Podnix has been able to snag.
It makes for a messy, but also quick, way of determining if the video you are looking for is listed. And if you don't know what to watch next, you can just click on another link and hope serendipity delivers. That may be the most unique, if unintended, feature of Podnix. Helpfully, an "info" link is included next to each link so if you don't know what 12 oz. Mouse is about, you won't be mystified for long. More recognizable names like West Wing, Doctor Who, and Heroes are also represented and tend to dominate the site. via [{digital} alchemy]

- Letter Found In a "Personal Problems" advice column of an Australian Magazine. From Jeremy of Sydney, Australia.
I am a sailor in the Australian Navy. My parents live in the suburb of Redfern and one of my sisters, who lives in Canberra, is married to a guy from Liverpool, England.
My father and mother have recently been arrested for growing and selling marijuana and are currently dependent on my other two sisters, who are prostitutes in Kings cross. I have two brothers, one who is currently serving a non-parole life sentence in Long Bay Jail, Sydney, for the rape and murder of a teenage girl in 1994, the other is currently being held in the Parramatta remand centre on charges of incest.
I have recently become engaged to marry a former Thai prostitute who lives in Chatswood and indeed is still a part time "working girl" in a brothel, however, her time there is limited as she has recently been infected with an STD. We intend to marry as soon as possible and are currently looking into the possibility of opening our own brothel with my fiancee utilising her knowledge of the industry working as the manager. I am hoping my two sisters would be interested in joining our team. Although I would prefer them not to prostitute themselves, it would at least get them off the streets and hopefully the heroin.
My problem is this: I love my fiancee and look forward to bringing her into the family and of course I want to be totally honest with her........ Should I tell her about my brother-in-law being a Scouser?
