- X-Zone, Covent Garden, Mama San Nok's Birthday Party with free food, Sunday May 11. If you need a greater incentive than free food then X-Zone has a dancer with the largest natural top set I've ever seen on a slim built Thai girl. That's ever and they're AWESOME. Obviously, that should be sufficient info for most of you but if you didn't qualify for the Observer Corp during the War then ask for No. 30.
- The Pattaya Salsa Dance Beach Party at Golden Cliff House, May 10.
Tickets sold at the door:
Package B - Bt1,000 Includes entrance fee, one drink, and buffet dinner
Package C - Bt600 Includes entrance fee and one complementary drink
- Dude Club, Soi Bongkot, is now open for ladies of all nationalities in need of a bit of male company on their own terms.
- Club Misty had it's soft opening last night and although I didn't make it a pal who did said it's terrific inside. A real expensive fit. The following are from Club Misty's own web site:
- An article in today's Bangkok Post caught my eye. Two robbers shot dead in attempted gold necklace snatch. It appears the robbers luck was out because their target was carrying a gun. It's only when I read that one robber was shot 4 times and the other twice that I realised there's a thin line in Thailand between self defence and execution. The target was released without bail which would suggest to me that he will be in line for some 'taking out the trash' community service award in the near future
- Cheap Charlie Tours - I'm sure there are many others but this one's not bad.
Hit Champagne Go Go in LK Metro at 7.00pm and drink bottled beer at 2 for the price of 1 until 9.00pm. That runs out at Bt45 a bottle for Heineken. You can buy forward at 8.50pm so you've got enough beer in hand to see you through to the show at approx 9.15pm. The paint dripping is nothing extraordinary but the communal shower afterwards is far from ordinary!! Oh, and if it's a Friday, you'll also get a slice of free pizza thrown in for your troubles.
When you've seen the shower show, jump on a motor cyke taxi and head to the Beer Garden behind the Siren Beer Bar complex and drink at Bt40 a drink until 11.00pm. There' always the chance you'll find a freelancer or two but if not, you can enjoy the view and the classic rock vids.
By 11.00pm you should have a nice buzz on and be primed to throw away the money you've saved in the Go Go's of Walking Street.
Any other suggestions for Cheap Charlie Tours?
- England, once famed for its high culture and good manners, has been dismissed in a new travel guide as home to "overweight, binge-drinking, reality TV addicts"
Of the two hundred-plus destinations across the world that Rough Guide covers, there is none so fascinating, beautiful and culturally diverse, yet as insular, self-important and irritating, as England," says the guide, which was written by four British travel writers.
"But it's also a country of animal-loving, tea-drinking, charity donors, where queuing remains a national pastime and bastions of civilisation, such as Radio 4, are jealously protected. It's a nation that prides itself on its patriotism – yet has a Scottish prime minister, an Italian football coach and a Greek royal consort. [via The Telegraph]
- In the right margin, I've added a Skribit box which let's you/readers leave suggestions on what they would like to see on the blog. Surprisingly, the first couple of suggestions were clean:
- show photos of the new Beer Garden Bar
- give details of the best places to learn Thai in Pattaya?
I'll certainly take care of the first request but can anybody help me out on the second - where is the best place to learn Thai in Pattaya?
By coincidence, The FARANG Speaks 2 Much recently posted that the following online site is pretty good for learning basic Thai and the first 10 lessons are free:
Other online sites worth checking out are:
- This is great but nothing at all to do with news. It may take a minute to load if you are in Thailand but it's worth the wait.
